Welcome to 't IJshuys
It is possible, in the middle of the centre of the beautifully restored 17th-century fortified town of Heusden, to enjoy fantastic, artisan ice cream at ‘t IJshuys. Using their own recipe, it is prepared fresh daily and served with an enthusiasm that is catching. In addition to the most delicious ice cream in Brabant, ’t IJshuys also offers exclusive chocolates, fresh waffles, delicious Brabants sausage rolls, homemade cake and an extravagant cup of coffee. Less than five minutes from ’s-Hertogenbosch and half an hour from Eindhoven Airport, people from around the world come to visit this fortified town. Many of them are pleased to discover this ice-cream parlour, where they thoroughly enjoy themselves, as is witnessed by the response by an Australian visitor: “Probably the best ice cream ever!”
Ice Cream with a Smile
Whether you are a faithful eater of vanilla, a strawberry fan, a fanatic Malaga connoisseur or a Limoncello licker, everything is “Freshly prepared in a wide range of – sometimes surprising – flavours.” You also feel how Gijs and his dad Kees do all they can to pamper their guests. The staff is also very relaxed: the informal hospitality brings a smile to everyone’s face. The attractive neighbourhood pulls in many day trippers, with families in particular finding their way to the luxurious sundaes of ‘t IJshuys. “The place to be for delicious ice cream […] a very nice-looking place, clean toilets and perfect service,” according to a Flemish guest who enjoyed himself very much. ’t IJshuys has scored the full 100% six times already during unexpected food safety inspections by Houwers Groep.
Heusden and surroundings
Heusden is a beautiful fortified town and an ideal location for a day trip from the Brabant capital ’s-Hertogenbosch. But a visit to ’t IJshuys is also perfect for combining with a day at theme park Efteling, Beekse Bergen Safari Park or National Park Loonse en Drunense Duinen. What could be better after a wonderful day out than to enjoy the “Most delicious ice cream ever!”
